  • Dave – Jonathan, it was another great Land Show despite me and you messing it up. It was really good, we had a friend of yours on the show, Mr. Paul Cohens, Southern Ambrosia Honey. I’ve not had it, but I’m looking forward to it. And he really, he kind of took us deep in bees.
  • Johnny – Yeah.
  • Dave – I learned more about bees and bee behavior than I ever knew existed.
  • Johnny – I want to see you imitate that circle dance that he talked about.
  • Dave – I couldn’t do that in my youth, and I know I can’t do it now.
  • Johnny – For sure, you’ll pull a muscle. And then, we were pleased to have our special guests on, Mr. Eddie Lee Rider and Eric O’Keefe with the Land Report Magazine. We had so much to cover, we took two segments with him today and what a, just a fantastic magazine, the finest quality land magazine in the country. I really always enjoy getting those in the mailbox and we covered a lot of ground with them.
  • Dave – Yeah, Eddie Lee is a real visionary and he puts all of the pieces together. Eric is such a talented and creative writer.
  • Johnny – Yeah.
  • Dave – He painted pictures about landscapes across the West and Texas that were, it was like reading a novel.
  • Johnny – Yeah.
  • Dave – It was really excellent. We brought the big man in that is just ranging and roaming and selling, you know, more poultry farms than anybody in the United States. He and his partner, Robert King-Poultry South. Great stores around them, and we went to the cow market. You know, really deep into talking about maybe there will be some micro-markets will be established, and maybe some more local source beef. You know, that sort of thing.
  • Johnny – Yeah. I think there will be some positive things to come out of this. Then, we wrapped it up. Tell us about the special place that you and your father are thinking about selling.
  • Dave – Yeah, we just put it on the market. We’ve got 220 acres of personal family tract, that we’ve enjoyed over the years, on the Chambers Southwest county line. A real remote tract on the Calfpasture River, on the beautiful campsite, with Shoals and great Spotted Bass, right out bass fishing, great fly fishing area. You’ve got a pine plantation that has been thinned and got a lot of valuable pine, fish pond, open field. Little bit of everything. It’s a gorgeous, gorgeous place and we have lowered the price to $2500 an acre. We are trying to move some money to another, to our bigger pond.
  • Johnny – Okay. Well, I wish if it was still turkey season, I would go out there and do a turkey… see if there was any.
